Rocket League BotChat is a BakkesMod plugin for Rocket League that allows bots to send chat messages based on in-game events in offline matches.

Rocket League BotChat

Rocket League BotChat gives Rocket League bots that ability to chat based on in-game events.

It is designed to be used with a large language model running locally on your PC. You can set this up using NVIDIA's TensorRT-LLM library. The plugin requires an OpenAI-compatible API server running on localhost:5001. This project was developed for NVIDIA's Gen AI on RTX PCs Developer Contest.

Rocket League BotChat installation

1. If you recieve a prompt asking to open "Open plugininstaller.exe", click "Open" to install the plugin with BakkesMod

2. A black window will open to tell you the installation status

3. When the black window tells you it's finished, you're ready to start using the plugin!

Rocket League BotChat installation

  1. Find your BakkesMod installation location
    • This will be found by opening the BakkesMod Injector window and going to the top menu, clicking "File -> Open BakkesMod Folder"
  2. Copy the downloaded ZIP's files to the same locations in the BakkesMod folder.
  3. After copying the files, launch Rocket League and ensure the plugin works by opening the F6 console and typing plugin load [plugin DLL file name]
  4. If the plugin works, in the BakkesMod folder edit the "cfg/plugins.cfg" file with notepad. At the very bottom, add a new line with the content plugin load [plugin DLL file name]
